Chromium Plating Site, Groundwater Remediation, DTSC
The former chromium plating facility, occupies approximately 0.5-Acre of real property within a residential/ commercial and light industrial area. The groundwater was impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hexavalent chromium (CrVI).
The remedial design implementation called for: (1) remedial excavation, (2) installation and operation of a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system, (3) a multi-phase injection of calcium polysulfide (CPS) to treat the vadose zone, and (4) a multi-phase CPS injection into groundwater and downgradient of the Site.
